D&D

Some of you guys were interested in D&D and looking for a group. Im debating on starting one on Sat nights for maybe like once or twice a month. There really is no more details then that and I am going to do this on invitation only for now. Im not trying to exclude anyone but I want to keep it to like 4 or 5 regular people not including myself. If anyone is interested then get ahold of me here or at the meetup next and I'll work on some of the details.

Yeah, your invited buddy, for sure. I can probably give you a ride for when we hold it too if you need one. I normally play D&D with some other friends but I want to try and play a little more regularly. Running a second group for me would be a lot of fun. I know someone else was asking about a group too but I don't remember who.

I'm thinking about probably doing it on Saturdays starting at like 7 or 8 and going till whenever we have to stop. I want to do it at least one Saturday a month not conflicting obviously with Magic. Its going to be done in 3.5 edition rules until 4th comes out in which I am switching to that. I have en entire campaign mapped out to start and I believe I might have one other person I know interested. So all thats left is finding 3 people I get along with to fill in the rest of the party.

There potentially is Piotr. Do you follow the normal Spells per Day system or do you happen to use the very cool Spell Points system? A ride is always appreciated.

The spell thing is debatable but I prefer over all to give my wizards some room to breath on earlier levels. A friend of mine has a book he talks about that helps spellcasters out so I will ask him about the basics. We can work something out though Im sure. I need to brush up on 3.5 still and get a better grip on it. I cant find the disk I have of all the books so I may need what you have on disk. Once I get enough people id like to get rolling on this but it seems like it wont be for at least a month and a half. With Tekko and magic I can see myself being busy.

I know what you mean. Life is getting pretty hectic. I'm not sure what exactly is going on, but it seems like I'll be going home for around a month or so from somewhere around the 3rd or 4th week of May until around the 3rd week or so of June. The dates are fuzzy, so if we can work this out, I can try to deal with when we would want to meet with when I am visiting home. I can give you the books on disk next time you come over(actually, if you have a pendrive or something, that would be better as the books are large enough to require multiple disks. I think 2 gigs or something.

My current dm uses a spell point system so that generally speaking, you have a certain number or spell points that you calculate based off of your total spells per day and you can use these spell points to cast any of your available spells as many times as you have the spell points for. So, if I had 3 level 1 spells per day, 2 level 2s, and 1 level 3, my total spell points would be 10sp. I could then use these spell points in any way, such as 10 level 1 spells or even 3 level 3s and 1 level 1. This system is highly irregular I think, but it makes for a much more enjoyable and relaxed game in my opinion. Also, it makes it a little more like an rpg, such as Final Fantasy.

I have a friend that I think you would like that might be interested in joining us if it is only about once a month. He isn't up with the new stuff, but I guess he used to DnD a little bit ago. He certainly must know more than I do. His name is Avi and he comes to meetup once now and then.

I havent forgotten about this. I just got 4th edition and will be reading it here on vacation. I hope by the next meet up I can solidify a group to RP with. I know some people havent really ever been into D&D but I make sure its a good time that everyone would like. If anyone is interested then give me a heads up. It'll be a good time.
